The family of Sarah FROUDE and James MONTGOMERY are difficult to research having been located in Ireland. To date I have not found their marriage records.
Sarah FROUDE was born 23rd August 1832 and baptised on the 24th August 1832, which seems fairly quick. She was the fourth child and first daughter of Thomas FROUDE (1796-1888) and Isabella GIBSON.
She married James MONTGOMERY at an unknown date about 1825 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. James was born about 1841 in County Monaghan, Ireland. James's occupation in 1901 was "Boat Closer".
The following children have been identified:
1. Margaret Jane MONTGOMERY born 18 June 1869, Belfast. No further information.
2. Unknown MONTGOMERY born 12 January 1871, Belfast, possibly died young.
3. James MONTGOMERY was born 16 October 1873, Belfast. He was the only child living with his mother and father in 1901, when he was 27, and employed as a Hardware Assistant.
4. Isabella Froude MONTGOMERY was born 24 April 1875, in Belfast. No further information.
5. Sarah Jane Neill MONTGOMERY was born 21 May 1877 in Belfast. No further information.
In 1901 they, James Snr. and Sarah and James Jnr., are living at Dock Ward, Shankill Parish. They are in same house where Thomas FROUDE used to live. (56 Henry Street) A four room house with 5 windows in the front.
